THE RULES
What is
A game created during the 2020 quarantine by two brothers and their wives, it's a social game of drafting favorites. If you’ve ever argued with friends over the best 90’s band or even the worst chore, this is the game for you. With a unique drafting style and hundreds of topics, you’ll learn more about people than you thought you wanted to know.
Set up
Shuffle the deck of cards and place it in the middle of the playing area. Each player receives a white board and dry erase marker.
Before starting determine:
-
The first Draft Master (oldest/youngest, most hair/least hair, epic rock/paper/scissors tournament, or whatever works for your group).
-
The draft order (snake or normal) – not needed for game play 2.
-
Number of picks per player, determined by the Draft Master (3 – 5 is usually good).
-
The number of rounds you’re going to play.
Rules
Game Play 1
-
The Draft Master picks a card from the deck and chooses a draft topic for the round.
-
The players take turns drafting their choices. It is encouraged to laugh, tell stories, and explain your pick. It may just help persuade the Draft Master to pick you.
-
After all picks have been completed, the Draft Master will choose their favorite board. That player wins the round.
-
The Draft Master is then moved to the player to the left and the game is repeated until the number of rounds determined during set-up is reached.
-
The player with the most rounds won, is the champion.
Game Play 2
-
The Draft Master picks a card from the deck and chooses a draft topic for the round.
-
Each player secretively completes his or her board (Draft Master may set a time limit).
-
Once picks are complete, the Draft Master is handed all of the player’s boards.
-
The Draft Master chooses which player’s board is their favorite. That player wins the round.
-
The Draft Master is then moved to the player to the left and the game is repeated until the number of rounds determined during set-up is reached.
-
The player with the most rounds won, is the champion.
Card Categories
The Best/Worst
Self-explanatory, but just in case... The players will pick based on what they think would be the best or worst items in that specific category.
Win/Lose the Battle
Which items are going to help you defeat the other players and make it out!? Pick the right choices to win (or lose) the battle. Ex: You’re placed in a cage match and are only able to bring items from a toy store.
Ultimate Build
Each player builds his or her best combination of choices for the draft topic. Planning a family Thanksgiving dinner just got a little more difficult! You will be competing against other players for what will be on your plate.
Survive the Sitch
Each player needs to build his or her own survival kit. It may be life or death.. There’s a zombie apocalypse, what items do you need to survive?
Player Pick’d
Shuffle in the Player Pick’d cards to have the Draft Master choose his or her own category and topic. Sorry, were the draft topics we came up with not enough!?
Have Fun!
The instructions provided are guidelines, but we encourage you to make the game your own. We designed this game to laugh, tell stories, and get to know each other better. Feel free to come up with your own twists to the game. We’d love to see you and your friends drafting. Post a pic of you
